This book is great for people starting to learn how to create spirits, tulpas, and the like.
Of course, it is not geared for the person who just started to learn magick.

Creating Magickal Entities walks you through the steps it takes to create your own entity.
It goes on to explain how to work with your spirit to get things that you want. There is
an interesting section on ethics that is refreshing to see in a book like this (it's not
the typical three-fold law warning).

The book is written in a simple, down-to-earth way that kind of makes you feel that Mr.
Cunningham, Mr. Ellwood, and Ms. Wagener are talking to you. This book is also written in
such a way that just about anyone from any tradition could use some or all of the methods
described in Creating Magickal Entities.

This is definitely a book to add to any magickal collection and to use as a lesson book.

Zeena and Nikolas Shreck - Demons of the Flesh

This is a huge and impressive tome, authoritative and detailed, marred only by an occasional
example of the authors’ arrogance, which seems to be a throwback to his more youthful days.

The book sets off well, providing an exhaustive trawl through the history of genuine eastern
Sex Magic sects and praxis, elegantly delineating the relevance of these deviant religious
creeds to the contemporary scene. This discussion, taking up the whole of Part One of the book’s
three sections, is impressive and scholarly, and it would be difficult to envisage another author
giving as much thought and care to exposing the true vama marga in a book offered to the general
reading public.

Part Two, which examines western manifestations of the sexual gnosis, seems to me rather less
successful. It is here that Schreck gives vent to his personal opinion a little too freely, resulting in a much less scholarly tone. It is a shame, really, that he couldn’t resist going down the same old road which has been trodden by so many contemporary Occultists who feel compelled to ‘have a pop’ at the Big Name*s, sub textually trying to supersede them. A list of well known targets includes Blavatsky, P.B Randolph, Theodor Reuss, Aleister Crowley (of course), Kenneth Grant and Austin Osman Spare. The latter, Schreck describes as ‘a half mad old hermit’ in his old age, a curious and seemingly inaccurate remark in light of Dennis Bardon’s portrait of Spare in his 1965 book Ghosts and Hauntings, which describes Spare as a ‘kindly man with a wide circle of friends’. Similarly, things get confused in relation to Jack Parsons, someone who comes in for more praise than usual due to ‘The Babalon Working’, which Schreck sees as a quite genuine advancement on Crowley, Parsons’ mentor. Overlooked in all this is the input from Parsons’ favourite science fiction novel, Jack Williamson’s Darker Than You Think,
more or less the template for all Parsons’ notions about a ‘black messiah’. But where Schreck
does succeed is in his masterful coverage of less well known names; in fact, there is always
plenty of intriguing and genuinely obscure material in Schreck’s books, which makes them consistently essential reading. Case in point here is the material on Maria De Naglowska and her circle of satanically inspired acolytes, numbered amongst them one George Bataille!

The final section of the book, comprising a detailed ‘guide’ to Sex Magic practices, is the most
disappointing. What we are presented with is a fairly informal discussion of ‘Do’s and Don’ts’,
garnished with the predictable chapters on S&M, Bondage, and all that necro-chic stuff one usually
associates with erotic potboilers and people who think they’re ‘interesting’. However, even this section
offers some lucid thought which places it streets ahead of similar material, and it certainly beats reading the usual self-help New Age junk which smothers the shelves these days.

One definite ‘Plus’, though - in what is after all, on balance, a very worthy book - is the inclusion
of a lot of good illustrations; Schreck once more demonstrating his sophisticated taste by including a
couple of pieces by Clovis Trouille.

A question: am I right in assuming Zeena Schreck’s role as ‘inspirational’, and that she didn’t write a
word of this book? Or if she did, would that explain its occasionally uneven quality? Uneven or not,
this is a book I wholeheartedly recommend – it will be many a moon before something else as detailed
and painstaking comes along; if ever.

This is a basic book on Astral traveling. Robert has refined his teaching of out-of-body experiences by helping people learn over the web for almost a decade. The book is original and the material is thought provoking. What I liked was that Robert stated how easy it is for anyone to soul travel and remember it. I have had personal experiences with out-of-body experiences but personally felt they were something that rarely happen for me. So I have been reading this book each night before I go to sleep and practicing the exercises. Last night I flew out of my bedroom, around my farm, and to the tops of my neighbors tall poplar trees. The colors were beyond the normal spectrum of intensity and it was night time. I then crashed into a tree and instantly jumped up in bed with the vivid memory. I believe this book is revolutionary. I think the techniques of seeing smoke rings raise up your body, relaxing it, and the image of pulling your inner body out with a spirit rope as you fall asleep are effective techniques.
